Homemade Protein Balls

Protein balls

Struggling to find a healthy protein bar for your active life?  These protein balls are the perfect alternative to store bought and sugar laden bars. Experiment to find your favorite kind by switching the type of nut or fruit that is used.

 

Chewy Coconut Cashew

Ingredients:

1 cup cashews

2 cups coconut chips

1 teaspoon honey

½ cup hemp seeds

¼ cup chia seeds

 

Peanut Power

Ingredients:

1 cup old fashioned rolled oats

½ cup peanuts

2 tablespoons peanut butter

½ cup chocolate chips

 

Almond Apricot

Ingredients:

1 cup almonds

¾ cup dried, chopped apricot

¼ cup ground flax seed

½ cup whole flax seed

1 ablespoon fresh turmeric zest

½ tablespoon fresh ginger zest

 

Directions (to be used for all bars):

Combine ingredients in food processor and pulse until blended and formable. Form mixture into bite sized balls. Refrigerate to store.
